History Tour

Fifth Grade students across White County were submerged in local history in the Spring 2014. They toured museums, learned more about notable natives, discovered the history and heritage of Sparta and White County.

I was honored to be asked to help with this event and spoke to the students about five interesting people throughout White County history from John White, one of White County's first settlers, to Gen. George Dibrell, Confederate General and TN Statesman, to Earl Webb, who still holds the MLB record for most doubles in a season, to Annelle Hickey, the first female sheriff elected in White County (and Tennessee!) to Kelly Jolly, basketball great .
